Our staff
Dr. Helle M. Stewart, Owner, Veterinarian and Medical Director. Dr. Stewart has lived and worked in Charlottesville since 1998. She enjoys medicine and surgery and has a special interest in dentistry, behavior medicine and chronic medical conditions including geriatrics. Dr. Stewart enjoys helping her canine and feline patients as well as guiding owners in the care of rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Client communication is very important to Dr. Stewart and she is always available for questions and comments, either in person or by phone.
Dr. Charis K. Thompson, full-time associate veterinarian. Dr. Thompson graduated from Virginia Tech School of Veterinary Medicine and has been working at a very busy practice in Fredericksburg for the last 5 years before joining Pantops Veterinary Hospital in 2009. Dr. Thompson is the proud owner of two greyhounds, and enjoys all aspects of medicine and surgery for our feline and canine patients.
Mindy Conner, LVT. Director of Patient Services. Mindy has 30 years experience as a licensed veterinary technician and enjoys all aspect of patient care, laboratory work, radiographic exams and client education. Mindy performs dental prophylactic cleanings, anesthesia administration and monitoring as well as assists in surgery and directs patient anesthesia recovery.
Mary Tropea , Director of Client Services. Mary is a wife and mother of two grown and accomplished daughters and owner of "Whisper" her feline family member. She has been a veterinary receptionist for 6 years prior to joining PVH in 2007. Mary offers great expertise in advising clients regarding scheduling, cost expectation and feeding recommendations. Mary directs our Royal Canin veterinary diet program and coordinates special orders and individual feeding needs for your pet.
Christa Gregg, has several years experience as a veterinary assistant, and also has a background working at our local SPCA as animal care coordinator. Christa started at PVH in 2007. Christa assists during consultations and surgery, assists patient anesthesia recovery as well as performing laboratory tests.
Lindsay Thomas, part-time receptionist. Lindsay graduated from Radford University in 2007 and obtained her teaching licence in 2009. She will continue on staff for saturdays. Lindsay has a great love for animals, she has experinece in caring for chronically ill patients.
Vanessa Priarone, joined our staff in June 2010 as full time veterinary asistant. Vanessa graduated from Northeastern University in Boston and is working towards applying to veterinary school. She has previous experience working as a veterinary assistant for 2 yeasr prior to joining our practice.
